It's Your Day, Let's Make It Delicious!
WEDDING CATERING
Harrison's Eat Well Catering has unparalleled experience in creating memorable tastes with countless wedding reception and rehearsal dinner menus over their tenure as Best Caterer of State College. By getting to know you, our culinary team will be able to best help you create a menu that is an expression of who you are as a wedding couple and served in the style that best fits your wedding reception. Additionally, special dietary needs may be comfortably managed with tasty vegetarian, gluten free and/or dairy free options.
Below are various menu styles to help you consider the offerings without feeling overwhelmed by all of the choices available. At the appropriate time, a menu planning meeting will be an opportunity to share ideas to support decision making based on the number of wedding guests, family dynamics, and of course, the favorite tastes of the guests of honor.
Classic Menu: This wedding reception and rehearsal dinner sample menu are tried and true favorites made extraordinarily for the more conservative palate. When feeding a large group with varied tastes and wanting to include all, try traditional fare like Vineyard Chicken and Salmon Beurre Blanc or Grilled Pesto Chicken, BBQ Brisket, and 4-Cheese Baked Pasta (v).
Creative Menu: A more contemporary reception menu with fresh, more unexpected ideas may inspire you. Think globally inspired, chef's creations, or local and seasonal foods. A nice social approach is eclectic mix & mingle stations that allow all your wedding guests to move about and socialize while celebrating with you. Let us know your interests, and we’ll let you know if it is within our area of expertise. Ideas include Lemon-Proscuitto Chicken, Sesame-Crusted Salmon and Gnocchi Fagiole (v) or Beef Bourguignon, Crab Cakes, and Athenian Pasta Primavera or selections from Special Menus from our "sister" restaurant, The Overlook Grill, are also possible to incorporate into your wedding reception menu.
Wine Country Menu: One of our favorites! A Wine Country menu is a laid-back spread of upscale foods arranged beautifully on platters for your wedding guests to share and enjoy
combinations in an easy, casual format. The platters are meant to be visited again and again, for sampling of signature Harrison’s combinations while enjoying the energy of a mix and mingle gathering. Part upscale picnic and part lavish buffet, this style incorporates refined and balanced flavors. This is also a unique option for a wonderfully relaxed rehearsal dinner. And of course, it is enjoyed even more with wine! Platters (served at room temperature) might include Mango Salsa with Tostada Triangles, Grilled Chicken with local goat cheese and Fig & Olive Relish, beautifully Poached Salmon, Grilled Balsamic Beef with grilled asparagus, Caesar Salad, Quinoa Provencal plus mini crab cakes, baked brie, spanikopita and freshly baked bread. If the budget allows, a sumptuous platter of beef tenderloin with horseradish sour cream can be a real crowd pleaser.
Casual Menu: Wedding and rehearsal dinner menu ideas for a more casual reception are endless and can range from thrifty to pricey, but always tasty. It means a comfortable occasion vibe and often has a country or rustic theme tied to the reception. Think Chef’s Mac & Cheese & Pulled Pork Barbecue or a hearty Turkey or Roast Beef with Mashed Potatoes meal. Other ideas include an upscale picnic, a full BBQ menu, or salads with kabobs from the grill.
